On September 9, 2009, Steve Jobs announced the release of the 5th Generation of Ipod Nano. This digital audio player has a video camera, FM radio(finally! an additional feature), pedometer of the Ipod series and larger 2.2 inch screen. Apple has sold many digital audio players including the Ipod Touch where it can’t only play music and watch videos but you can also browse the Internet because of its Wi-Fi capability and numerous applications that you can download and use. But, there are other Digital Audio Players that you can choose from Creative, San Disk, Cowon, Iriver and Archos manufacturers have also released different types of audio players to compete with the Apple’s Ipod, Ipod Nano and Ipod Touch.

The Mighty Ipod Touch
A Digital Audio Player has two main categories, Hard-drive based players and Flash based players. Hard-drive based players have larger storage capacity ranging from 30gb to 160gb or more so that you’ll be able to store large amount of music files. Most Hard-drive based players can also play movie and video formats and they have larger screens for better viewing for example the Ipod Classic and the Zune by Microsoft. While Flash based players are small, very portable and inexpensive. They also have longer battery life since they do not have movable parts. Ipod Shuffle, Creative Zen and San Disk Sansa Clip are few of the examples of Flash based players. If you want to store large amount of songs consider to purchase Hard-drive players and they also support almost all the audio and video formats but if you want to have a compact audio player where you can carry anywhere let’s say on a gym, you can choose Flash based players because they have no moving parts without causing to the song you’re listening to skip.
